April 30 my Mother celebrated her 91st birthday. It's her influence that made me love to read. She says she read the whole time she was pregnant with me, she read out loud to me when I was little and she allowed me to go to the public library sometimes twice a day during my growing up summers. She and her friends in the senior apartment complex still read and share their books. When you complete a book you put your initials inside the cover and pass the book on to the next reader in the building. Books that have made the rounds often end up on the bookshelf at the beauty shop...that's right a mini library in the beauty shop my sister-in-law owns.
